Gonzalo is geboren in Olite (Navarra) en werkt als technisch directeur bij Bodegas San Martín, een bodega die enkele van de mooiste garnacha’s produceert. Sinds 2004 maakt hij ook zijn eigen wijnen. Wijnen met een persoonlijk verhaal en authenticiteit. Soms zelfs ‘limited editions’, waardoor hij de mogelijkheid heeft om te experimenteren en nieuwe wijnen voort te brengen. Hij vertelt over Huracán Daniela: ‘’In 2015, Daniela, my second daughter, was born, as could not be otherwise, during the grape harvest, right in the middle of the harvest, accompanied by a complicated delivery and a few minor problems, nothing serious, but stormy nonetheless… It was clear that she wanted to cause trouble, time passed and the prediction came true, Daniela is a volcano of expressiveness, of noise, of joys and tears, but above all of happiness, a happiness that she transmits and sweeps away wherever she goes… in short, a hurricane of feelings. I had to dedicate a wine to her, my best and most precious gift, and it had to be intense, powerful and with many nuances, that’s Daniela: I thought a white blend, multivarietal, that encompassed many nuances and with a marked work on lees that gave it strength and depth
was appropriate. The finishing touch is the clay amphora, which gives it a distinct character and helps it to mature in a particular way, but above all it gives a metaphorical sense to the wine, placing it in Gaul, next to Asterix himself, as if Daniela had fallen into this same cauldron, only something like this explains its inexhaustible energy.’’
